THE ROMANS ROAD
Perhaps you have read one of the Books of the New Testament that tell the story of Jesus - the Gospel of Mark or the Gospel of John. Now, you will ask, “What do these things mean?”. The Cross? The Resurrection? And how can Jesus begin to do His work in my life?
The Apostle Paul wrote a New Testament letter. The name of that letter is “The Epistle to the Romans”. That letter answers many questions.
From that letter four key verses are selected. These four verses together are often called “The Romans Road”. They help you to see what Jesus did for you and how you can enter Etemal Life through Jesus. There is peace in knowing that if you died today, you would be with the Lord Jesus and the Father in Heaven forever.
Look at the Romans Road.
1.)
ALL HAVE SINNED
“All have sínned and come short of the glory of
God.” ...Rom. 3:23
2.) THE EFFECT OF
SIN
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Jesus Christ our
Lord” …Rom. 6:23
Death is both physical and spiritual. It is an everlasting separation from God who loves us. But there is hope! Everlasting Life is available to you in the Lord Jesus.
3.) YOU CAN BE
FREE!
“God commends His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us” …Rom. 5:8
On the Cross Jesus took the penalty of our sin upon Himself, and died in our place,
….then rose out of death!
4.) YOUR WAY TO ETERNAL
LIFE
“For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” …Rom. 10:13
In prayer, admit to God that you have sinned and are worthy of death. Then ask God to save you. Tell Him that you trust Jesus to be your Savior and that you now receive Him into your heart. Your prayer can be like this:
“Oh God, 1 am a sinner. 1 trust Jesus to be my Savior and 1 now receive
Him into my heart.”
If this is the prayer of your heart, these words can assure you,
“These things have I written unto you
that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life.”
…1 John 5:13
